Terms of service

Effective from October 3, 2026

Welcome to NotOnlyFiles. These terms are the agreement between you and us whenever you upload, receive or pay for anything on www.notonlyfiles.com. Using the site means you accept them.

About us

NotOnlyFiles ("we", "us") is run by NOTONLYFILES.COM, ITALY, . You can reach us at hello@notonlyfiles.com.

The service in short

NotOnlyFiles lets you upload files and hand them over to other people through a link that only opens with a passcode. Specifically:

  • every delivery has a size limit set by your plan (30 MB on Free);
  • Free has a daily cap on the number of deliveries; Pro and Business have a monthly upload allowance that refills with each paid renewal and also counts deliveries you later erase (see Plans);
  • when uploading you set a passcode for the recipient and a private owner key for yourself;
  • files stay online for the lifetime you choose, up to the maximum of your plan (60 days at most), and are then erased automatically;
  • with the owner key you can follow downloads and erase a delivery early;
  • if you ask us to, we email the link to the people you name.

We may improve, change, pause or retire features, or the whole service, at any time.

Eligibility

You must be an adult, or a minor with permission from a parent or guardian. If you act for a business or other organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

Accounts, subscriptions and billing

Paid plans require an account (email address and password). Keep your login details private: you are responsible for what happens under your account.

  • Price: shown on the Plans page in euros, VAT included. Stripe takes the payment.
  • Automatic renewal: plans are billed monthly and renew on their own at the current price until you cancel.
  • Cancelling: cancel anytime under "Billing & invoices" in your account. The plan keeps working until the end of the month you have paid for and then falls back to Free. Unused days are not refunded unless the law says otherwise.
  • Switching plan: you can move between plans from the same place; Stripe adjusts the charge for the rest of the period.
  • Payment problems: a new month starts only once its payment has been collected. If a charge fails, your account is limited to Free while Stripe tries again for a few days; if every attempt fails, the subscription ends.
  • Price changes: we will email you at least 30 days before any increase, which then applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before that.
  • 14-day withdrawal (consumers): you may withdraw within 14 days of subscribing, without giving reasons, by writing to hello@notonlyfiles.com. Because you ask for the plan to start immediately, we refund what you paid minus the part corresponding to the days already used (Arts. 50, 52 and 57 of the Italian Consumer Code).
  • Receipts: available under "Billing & invoices". For a formal invoice, email hello@notonlyfiles.com.
  • Closing an account: you can close it yourself once no plan is running. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use NotOnlyFiles to store or pass on:

  • anything unlawful, defamatory, threatening, hateful or inciting violence;
  • any material sexualising or exploiting minors;
  • works you have no right to share, such as pirated films, music or software, or anything infringing trademarks or other third-party rights;
  • malware or files built to harm devices or data;
  • other people's personal data that you are not entitled to share, especially health information, criminal records or other special categories of data;
  • spam or deceptive messages sent through our email notifications.

Also do not try to get around plan limits, reach deliveries that are not yours, or overload or disrupt the service.

Your content, your responsibility

You alone are responsible for the files you upload and for who you send them to. You confirm you hold the rights needed to share them and that you may use any email addresses you enter. If a third party makes a claim against us because of how you used the service in breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover us for it.

You choose your passcodes and owner keys: pick strong ones, keep them safe and give the passcode only to the right person, ideally through a different channel from the link.

Reporting and takedown

We do not screen uploads in advance. To report a delivery that you think is unlawful or infringes your rights, email hello@notonlyfiles.com with the link and an explanation. We may remove any content that we believe breaks these terms or the law, without notice, and will cooperate with the competent authorities when required.

Not a backup service

NotOnlyFiles is built for handing files over, not for keeping them. Always hold your own copy. We work hard to keep the service secure and online, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that files will never be lost or corrupted, for example through outages, maintenance or events outside our control.

Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for direct or indirect loss resulting from using or being unable to use the service, from lost files, from content uploaded by users, or from access gained through weak or shared passcodes. Nothing here limits liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any rights you have as a consumer.

Privacy

Our Privacy notice explains how we handle personal data.

Updates to these terms

We may revise these terms. The current version, with its effective date, is always on this page. Deliveries already made stay under the terms in force when they were uploaded.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, the courts where you live have jurisdiction. Otherwise, the courts where we are based have exclusive jurisdiction.

Every upload has an expiry date and is erased automatically afterwards.
